A brief history of the development of NOCU:
July 16, 1990: Ukraine declares its sovereignty.
December 22, 1990: Sports activists from each of Ukraine's provinces
gather in Kyiv and establish the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine (NOCU).
1972: Olympic double gold medallist Valeriy Borzov is elected president.
January 8, 1991: The Olympic Academy of Ukraine is established.
August 24, 1991: Ukraine declares its independence.
December 8, 1991: The USSR ceases to exist.
March 9, 1992: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) grants NOCU
conditional membership in the Olympic movement.
July 25-August 9, 1992: Ukraine participates in the XXVth Olympic Games
at Barcelona as part of the team representing the Commonwealth of Independent States
(CIS).
September 24, 1993: The International Olympic Committee grants NOCU full
membership in the Olympic movement.
February 12-27, 1994: Ukraine participates in the XVIIth Winter Olympic
Games at Lillehammer. This is independent Ukraine's debut in the Olympic Games.
December, 1994: NOCU president Valeriy Borzov and his executive are
re-elected for a second term.

- Preparation system of athletes for the Olympic Games.
- Athletes in modern Olympic sports.
- Nutrition and natural factors improving efficiency of work capacity in athletes.
- Technical means and new technologies in sports.
Abstract Specifications:
- Official language - English
- Abstracts should be printed at A4 format standard sheet of paper. Margins: left - 3 cm,
right - 1 cm, top and bottom - 2.5 cm. The following sequence should be observed: Title,
name, surname, institution, city, country, text.
- Standard abbreviations, symbols and punctuations should be used. SI System should be
used for measurement units. Abbreviations should be given fully, and then followed in
parenthesis.
- Deadline for abstract submissions: September 1, 1996.
- The authors will be notified about the results of abstract selections by November 1,
1996.
- In case of late abstract submission, the Organizing Committee does not guarantee its
inclusion into the Proceedings of the Congress.
