Media Watch Ukraine is an advocacy group for
balanced and accurate media coverage of Ukrainians
Media Watch Ukraine's Objectives
- Monitors the media and anticipates problems
- Informs the public about media bias, misinformation, inaccuracies, imbalanced,
irresponsible or defamatory reporting
- Fosters the development of a well-informed media that is familiar with and sensitive to
issues affecting Ukrainians and Ukraine
- Educates the Ukrainian and mainstream communities about historically accurate and
contemporary issues relevant to Ukraine and the Diaspora
How we will achieve our goals
- Scan selected print, electronic and broadcast media
- Operate a News on News hotline
- Issue community Alert Bulletins, press releases and media fact sheets
- Store media clippings and newswire reports on-line
- Create and maintain a database of journalists, specialists, volunteers and supporters
- Use technological support through a World Wide Web site on the Internet and electronic
conferences
- Plan and execute projects and events
