Third best jump in the world (2.02m) in 1991. The mark established a new
Ukrainian record. Won five of twelve meets entered. Placed second four times.
Third best jump in the world (2.00m) in 1992.
Fourth best jump in the world (2.00m) in 1993.
Second best jump in the world (2.00m) in 1994.
In 1995, she won 12 of 19 meets that she entered. She cleared at least
2.00m twelve times, almost as many times as everyone else combined. Nevertheless, she
failed to clear 2.00m and win gold at the World Championships. Babakova's personal best of
2.05m at the 1995 TOTO meet in Japan was the year's best high jump and the fourth best
ever.
The publication Track & Field News provides annual rankings
which are based on performance, consistency, level of competition, and similar criteria.
